Greg Vaughan’s Health Scare: ‘My Lungs Were Full of Fluid’

Recently, Soap opera veteran Greg Vaughan had a frightening experience that landed him in the hospital. Vaughan, known for his roles in “Days of Our Lives” and “General Hospital,” shared images of himself hooked up to an oxygen machine.

Though he previously assured his followers that he was doing well, Vaughan had to rush to an urgent care center due to a severe case of altitude sickness. Just one day into his vacation in Breckenridge, Colorado, where he planned to enjoy skiing and snowboarding with his children, he began experiencing exhaustion, congestion, and shortness of breath.

In an attempt to alleviate his symptoms, Vaughan tried taking NyQuil and drinking lots of Pedialyte, but it didn’t help. He ultimately had to descend the mountain to seek medical assistance.

Vaughan was surprised that he discovered that his condition was more serious than he initially thought. His blood oxygen level was dangerously low at only 54%, and his lungs were filling with fluid.

Eventually, he conceded to his sickness and decided to stay in for the day. After another night of congestion and sickness, the actor and model realized that he needed to head to urgent care, he wrote.
“To my shock I learned that I was experiencing severe altitude sickness! My Blood Oxygen was at 54% & my lungs were full of fluids!” he shared.

The medical professionals connected him to intravenous lines and recommended that he relocate to a lower altitude.

Reflecting on his experience, Vaughan emphasizes the importance of being cautious when skiing and snowboarding in the Rockies. He warns others that the mountains are no joke and advises everyone to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

So, if you’re planning a winter adventure, remember Greg Vaughan’s story and be mindful of the risks that come with high altitudes.

Stay safe and enjoy your vacation!
