A Clever Solution to a Grandparent’s Dilemma
Two elderly ladies, Dolly and Ruby, were enjoying a conversation about their grandchildren and the ways they stayed in touch with them.
Dolly sighed and said,
“Every year, I send each of my grandchildren a card with a generous cheque inside. Yet, I never hear from them. Not a single thank you message, nothing.”
Ruby, who had been listening thoughtfully, responded with a smile,
“I send my grandchildren very generous cheques as well. But unlike you, I always hear from them within a week of their receiving the money. They even come to visit me personally.”
Dolly was intrigued and asked,
“Wow, that’s impressive! How do you manage that?”
Ruby chuckled and explained,
“It’s quite simple. I don’t sign the cheque.”
